Program Description
The Cardiac Ultrasound Program at American Healthcare Institute offers in-depth education to prepare students for entry-level positions as cardiac sonographers. Students will learn how to produce high-quality echocardiography images through a combination of residential classroom instruction, hands-on clinical experience, and professional development.
The curriculum includes training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, ultrasound instrumentation, and scanning techniques specific to the heart. Graduates will be equipped to work in hospitals, private physician offices, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. This program meets and exceeds the clinical hour requirements recommended by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and prepares students for the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification exams.
