Program Overview
Start your journey into emergency medicine with our Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) diploma program at American Healthcare Institute. Designed according to the latest National EMS Education Standards, this 4-month program equips students with the skills, knowledge, and professionalism required to respond effectively in pre-hospital emergency care settings.
Students will develop strong cognitive understanding, psychomotor skills, and professional behavior—three essential domains for success in the field. Upon completion, students are prepared to take the National Registry Certification Exam and begin work as certified EMTs.
Program Description
The EMT program is designed to prepare students to provide life-saving care in out-of-hospital environments under medical supervision. Students will train in patient assessment, trauma and cardiac care, airway management, and emergency response protocols. Emphasis is placed on both technical competencies and soft skills like communication, empathy, and teamwork.
This intensive training includes:
- Classroom instruction

- Preparation for the National Registry Certification Exam

- Complete and sign the Application and Enrollment Agreement
- Present a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
- Provide proof of high school graduation or GED, or an associate degree or higher
- Pass a criminal background check (completed within the past 12 months)
- Complete a 10-panel drug screen (conducted within the last 6 months)
