Program Description

The Vascular Ultrasound Program at American Healthcare Institute provides students with in-depth education to produce accurate, high-quality vascular images for entry-level employment. Through a blend of classroom learning, hands-on clinical training, and professional development, students gain the pathologic knowledge, scanning techniques, and protocols essential in the field of vascular sonography.

This program is designed to meet and exceed the standards set by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Graduates are prepared to sit for the Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) exam and work in private practices, clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.

Program Objective

Upon completion of the program, students will:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in scanning vascular anatomy and related structures.
  • Understand and apply vascular protocols for registry exams.
  • Display effective communication and professional behavior.
  • Understand anatomy, physiology, pathology, and the interaction of ultrasound with human tissue.
  • Practice ethical and legal standards of care.
  • Master equipment operation and ergonomics.
  • Apply diagnostic procedures accurately in real-world settings.
  • Function as an effective member of a healthcare team.
  • Meet IAC vascular accreditation standards.
  • Successfully pass the RVS exam.

Entrance/Admission Requirements

To enroll, students must:

  • Provide a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Submit certified English translations and equivalency documents for foreign diplomas.
  • Pass the Digital Assessment Exam with at least:
  • 70 in Access to Technology
  • 70 in Life Balance
  • 70 in Digital Skills & Competencies
